Here at TreeClear UK, we provide a range of services that are tailored towards the specific needs and requirements of the peatland itself and the client. Whether you’re a private client or public entity, we work with you to ensure proper restoration.
Rejuvenating your landscape is our overall goal and we may carry out one or several of the following to achieve this:
Surface Mulching
Surface mulching plays a strong role in rejuvenating peatland surfaces. This process entails dispersing finely chopped vegetation, such as heather and other woody plants, across the ground. Acting as a shield, the mulch helps conserve moisture, enriches the substrate with organic nutrients, and fosters the resurgence of indigenous plant life. Additionally, this method promotes the formation of microhabitats, providing ideal conditions for dormant mosses and plants to re-establish and flourish.
Stump Grinding & Stump Augering
When transitioning forested areas in Staffordshire back to bogland, stump grinding and augering are indispensable techniques in peatland restoration. Stump grinding employs advanced tools like low-pressure excavators fitted with hydraulic grinding wheels to reduce stumps to ground level or lower. In contrast, stump augering uses a corkscrew-shaped hydraulic attachment to efficiently drill and remove stumps, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding terrain.
