Mechanical Vegetation Clearance

Mechanical vegetation clearance can be undertaken using various machines, attachments, and techniques. Treeclear UK mulches, flails and cuts vegetation on various sensitive terrains using a fleet of low ground pressure machines. Using specialist forestry machinery, with ground pressure as low as 1.25PSI, the impact on the ground is greatly reduced.

Our excavators are equipped with drum mulchers which are ideal for lighter vegetation clearance and heavy scrub. Low ground pressure tracked mulchers are ideal for larger areas of vegetation and scrub that require mulching down the ground level, leaving a very tidy finish. Moreover, disc mulchers are ideal for clearing woody vegetation, self-seeded trees, and individual trees.

Woodland Vegetation Clearance

Vegetation clearance within a woodland removes competing species, creates open areas and removes unwanted invasive non-native species (INNS). Woodland vegetation clearance helps with the health and biodiversity of your woodland area. Using lightweight forestry spec excavators, Treeclear UK can clear overgrown and unwanted vegetation efficiently and effectively.

Wetland Vegetation Clearance

Treeclear UK are equipped with specialist low ground pressure excavations enabling us to mechanically clear vegetation in areas where other machines cannot travel. Vegetation can be mulched of flailed down the ground level. This leaves a clean and tidy site upon completion. Vegetation clearance on peatland sites aids the restoration process allowing the creation of bunds and the re-wetting process to be much more successful.

Annual Vegetation Clearance

Treeclear UK also offers annual vegetation clearance programs as on-going maintenance projects. Existing clients engage us on an annual basis for a range of vegetation clearance contracts. One of our clients requires us to mulch rush and grass to encourage wildfowl to specific areas of the Lancashire coast. Another of our valued clients requires us to clear large areas of vegetation consisting of rhododendron, western hemlock, pine and Molinia which assists in the management of their SSSi site in Cumbria.

Benefits Of Vegetation Clearance

The first step of any land management project is to ensure that your land is cleared of vegetation for future advancements and changes.

Many sites experience multiple issues which may include invasive species, such as Rhododendron, ground vegetation such as gorse and bramble and infected species which require safe removal from accredited contractors.

Key benefits include:

  • Control invasive species
  • Disease control
  • Eradicates unwanted or dangerous vegetation
  • Enables future management
  • Increases accessibility to land
  • Greatly assists future restoration programs
